Oh Boy! Oberto seen in 95,000 homes and businesses
Thanks to
the camerawork of Tri-City Water Follies volunteer
photographer Steve Conner, the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto will
be featured in a cover shot racing on the Columbia
River. It can be found on the just released
Tri-Cities area Verizon SuperPages™ phonebook.
The December 2001 phonebook marks the first time in Tri-Cities history that the cover has been customized to highlight a local special event.
Roughly 95,000 SuperPages directories are delivered to
homes and businesses throughout the area. The
promotion will serve as great exposure for the U-6,
the Tri-City
Water Follies and the series. Click
here for a look at the cover shot! Our
thanks are offered to Emily Janikowski
of the Tri-City Water Follies for sending us all the
details!

6/26/01 - Steve David takes part in pre-season Hydro-Prop Teleconference
Hydro-Prop recently hosted a media teleconference to preview the
upcoming season. U-6 pilot Steve David
joined Miss Budweiser driver, Dave Villwock, fielding a mix of questions from the press. Curious
what he had to say about the season and the team? The full transcript has been loaded onto the Hydros side of the Hydro-Prop website,

6/26/01 - Steve David discusses the upcoming season
and what it means to him to join the team in 2001
As we prepare to pack up the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto and
make our way down the road to Evansville, we thought it would be a good
time to check in with new driver, Steve David, and get his thoughts on
the upcoming season...
"Just about a week to go, man I'm pumped to go
racing! As to the U-6 this season, I think they are more ready to
win than they've been for a long, long time. Every team member
that I've spoken to is pumped and ready to win. We've got a number of
fresh engines, several gear combinations, a slew of props, spare shafts,
heck, we're the True Value truck of Unlimiteds!
Driving for these guys is not only electrifying in
terms of their hunger to win, but steeped in tradition. It's not just a
seat in an Unlimited, it's a boat and name that means a lot to some
13,000 residents of Madison, Indiana. She represents the hopes and
aspirations of everyone who ever sought to win, regardless of the odds.
Our team's mutual goal is to throw everything in our
arsenal into winning. In fact, folks with dentures shouldn't get
too close to our team, or else the vibrations from our excitement will
shake their dentures out. Pacemakers the same thing, we'll short those
if they get too close. Expecting mothers, same caution! One
week and a half to the best season in modern Unlimited times!"

3/02/01 - Madison Regatta selects new logo!
Officials of Madison Regatta, Inc. have chosen a new logo for the Madison Regatta. Regatta Board members used a transitionary logo during last year’s festivities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of unlimited hydroplane racing in the city of Madison, Indiana. Officials wanted to continually evolve the Regatta’s image and ran a public contest to see who could create the best design. River Valley Financial Bank donated a $500 savings bond as an award to entice local artists to enter. More than 25 designs were included with entries coming from Madison and Louisville, New Albany, North Carolina and other areas. To see the new logo, hear from the winner and get all the details on this year's Madison Regatta, simply visit them on the web at
www.madisonregatta.com.
